Mile Božičević

Screenwriter

As a dedicated screenwriter and media professional, I bring over 17 years of diverse experience in the industry to every project, including the one I’ve applied with to NEM. I was born in the city of Zadar, Croatia. Despite obtaining a high school degree in nautical studies, my true calling led me toward a path fueled by a passion for writing and the creative arts.

Following high school, I ventured through a variety of odd jobs until I got a gig as a journalist at a local TV station, where I learned about media industry. After that, my roles have spanned from video editor to director, culminating in screenwriting . I have had the privilege of creating and contributing to TV series for esteemed entities such as Nova TV, HBO Adria, Fremantle, ContentLab & Factory and RTL.

I hold a bachelor degree in Film, Television, and Multimedia creation from University of VERN’ and have attended multiple workshops all over Europe and Canada, where I worked in the industry for two years. In addition to my work in visual media, I have published numerous short stories, receiving awards for some.

Currently, I’m developing my own TV series – a fantastical sitcom, and preparing my first collection of short stories for publishing. Psychological horror “Through Hell,” final project for my bachelor’s degree, is making rounds on the festival circuit 2023/2024, and I’m adapting a feature version of it.

Outside of my professional life, I find solace in the nature, workout, spending time with my girlfriend, or immersing myself in reading and continuous learning.

My latest project, “Mothers of Humanity,” is a product of exploration of dealing with family-induced trauma and futuristic technology. Although the story might appear dark, I tend to look at it with a glimmer of hope, which is a crucial element in both my professional work and personal life.
