Goran Kulenović

Director and Screenwriter

Born in 1971 in Zagreb, studied film and TV directing at the ADU in Zagreb.

Goran is best known to a wider audience as the author, screenwriter and director of the cult croatian tv-series “Crno Bijeli Svijet” (“Black and White World”, 4 seasons from 2015.-2021.) and “Bitange i princeze” (“Bums and Princesses”, 5 seasons between 2005.-2009.); as well as feature films “Smrt djevojčice sa žigicama” (“Death of a Little Match Girl” , 2023.), “Pjevajte nešto ljubavno” (“Play Me a Love Song” , 2007.)  and “Ravno do dna” (“Rock Bottom”, 2002.; part of the omnibus “24 hours”).

An author of over 65 music videos for the most famous Croatian artists where the collaboration with ‘Hladno Pivo’ was particularly successful (a total of 12 videos), which was confirmed by two ‘Porin’ awards in the category of the best video for the songs ‘Politika’ and ‘Zimmer frei’.

Started directing career in the 90s in the Children and Youth Programme on national television with shows ‘When I grow up’, ‘Zagreb te zove’, ‘Highscoolers’, ‘In search of music’…; and two documentaries for the ‘Croatian movie portraits’.

Wrote and directed a large number of sketches for various music and sports shows. Also directed the sitcom “Provodi i sprovodi” (and co-screenwriter, 2011), and the theater plays “Bums and Princesses” (and writer; 2008, performed over 120 times); Neil Simon’s comedy ‘Goodbye Girl’ (and adaptation; 2022) and the musical-comedy “9.99 grams of happiness”; as well as a number of tv-commercials and company events.
