Tom Coan is an Executive Producer at Universal International Studios, the London-based division of Universal Studio Group, delivering award-winning international television to the global market. Tom executive produced series 1-3 of Hanna for Amazon, the mini-series The Long Song for BBC One, and The Capture series 1 & 2 for BBC One & Peacock. In 2015, Tom relocated to London from Los Angeles to open the UK creative offices of the studio.
As the Senior Vice President of Scripted Programming he focused on strengthening the businesses international scripted output, working across the development, sale and production of original scripted programming for English language commissioners outside the US. In addition to overseeing an in-house studio slate of development and programming, Tom collaborates with Universal International Studio’s portfolio of production companies, including Carnival, Heyday Television, Working Title Television, Matchbox Pictures & Lark. Prior to joining NBCUniversal in 2012, Tom was Director, Creative Affairs at Fox21, where he worked on the biker-drama Sons of Anarchy for FX, the critically-acclaimed Terriers from The Shield-creator Shawn Ryan for FX, and the break-out Showtime series, Homeland. Tom began his career as a Manager working at Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Television. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in TV Scriptwriting from Ithaca College. He is a member of BAFTA and the ATAS.
