Uglješa Jokić was born in Belgrade in 1976. He graduated from the Faculty of International Management (FIM) in Belgrade and completed his final year at the Manhattan Institute for Management (MIME) in New York. He later went to the Cotrugli School of Business in Belgrade. In 2007, Jokić founded the production company “Doktor Production”, which produced over 200 commercials for brands like Nestlé, Swatch, and Mittal Steel. In 2012, Doktor Production merged with post-production and animation studio Fried Pictures to become “DOKTOR FRIED”, the largest studio of its kind in the region, with Jokić serving as CEO.
He also expanded operations by opening a regional office in the Middle East (Qatar) in 2014. Around 2016, Jokić shifted toward producing scripted television. His first major TV project was the crime series “Ubice mog oca” (“The Murderers of My Father”), which achieved record ratings in Serbia. He also produced the film and series “The Golden Boy”, which has been sold to Amazon Germany and HBO CEE and fifteen other countries. He also co-produced movies “Dwelling Among the Gods” (2024) and “Soldier’s Lullaby” (2018). Today, he is a producer and owner at the Belgrade-based company Rainmaker production, which produces TV formats such as MasterChef Serbia, the most famous TV show that breaks viewership records. Jokić is also the General Manager and co-owner of JLA Content, a Dubai-based distribution company specializing in high-quality television and film content, as well as international co-productions and co-financing of innovative projects
