Synopsis: Early 1950s in the People’s Republic of Poland. A spy codenamed Shadow, who has been providing key information to the British intelligence, suddenly disappears. Now, both the Polish secret police and MI6 are racing to find him. Major Witold Kosek is assigned to capture the spy. Meanwhile, in another city, Doctor Helena Bielawska is accused of murdering her patient, a high-ranking Communist party official. Her trial attracts Major Kosek’s attention. The prison sentence will be just the beginning of a series of plot twists in this noir crime story.
