Maja Pek-Brünjes is a Zagreb-born and Berlin-based writer and producer with over fifteen years of experience in the TV and film industry. From 2014 to 2015, Maja participated in the Serial Eyes programme at the DFFB, and since then, she has focused on writing, particularly serialised storytelling with a writer’s room approach. Her first original series, The Highlands, aired in 2023 and was nominated for Best Drama Series at the Sarajevo Film Festival. Currently, she is working as head writer on the period crime series The Witch Hunter and the community-driven drama series Jinx. Maja is Serial Eyes, Berlinale Talents, Series’ Women and Going European alumna. As development producer, she won the HBO Europe Award at Midpoint TV Launch 2020. She has brought her series to Co-Production Forums at leading industry festivals such as Berlinale Co-Pro Series, Series Mania, TV Vision Pitch and CineLink Drama.
