Julia Groszek – Director of documentaries, short feature films and music videos. Graduate of documentary directing programme and screenwriting course at the Wajda School. She was a part of Screenwriting Atelier. She studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of Malaga (Spain) and holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies. She has made documentaries in Poland, Romania and Jordan, reportages in Burma and Thailand, and assisted in casting in Colombia. As an assistant director she worked on Borys Lankosz’s “Reverse”, Mads Matthiesen’s “The Model”, and Jan P. Matuszyński’s “Last Family”.
Her mid-length documentary “Arabic Secret” was presented at several international festivals and received awards at the AegeanDocs International Film Festival in Greece, HumanDoc FF or Ismailia Film Festival in Egypt, among others. Julia directed a TV doc series „Things my mother didn’t teach me” as well she was invited to the romantic TV doc series „I found love abroad” for Polsat TV. She is currently finishing her short documentary from Zimbabwe entitled “Golden Dreams”.
