Award-winning writer and producer Frank Spotnitz founded Big Light Productions in 2013, with a vision to create distinctive and ambitious TV drama series.

As CEO Frank oversees the development and production of the company’s television slate. Since founding Big Light, Frank has created, executive produced and written series, including the Emmy award-winning The Man in the High Castle, Medici: The Magnificent, Medici: Masters of Florence, Ransom and The Indian Detective. A third season of Medici is due to air on Netflix in 2020. New drama series Leonardo, starring Aidan Turner, commences filming in December 2019, for The Alliance (RAI, France Télévision and ZDF).

Frank has over 25 years’ experience in television as a writer and producer. He was the writer and Executive Producer of The X-Files television series and both feature films. He shares three Golden Globes for Best Dramatic Series and a Peabody Award for his work on The X-Files, and was Emmy-nominated both for writing and for Outstanding Drama Series. Frank’s other credits include Millennium, The Lone Gunmen, Night Stalker, Hunted and Strike Back: Project Dawn.

Frank divides his time between Big Light’s London and Paris offices.
