Elma Tataragić is screenwriter, professor and festival programmer. She graduated Dramaturgy at Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts and obtained her Masters and PhD in Film and Literature. She is Competition Programmer for Sarajevo Film Festival. She co-wrote short film FIRST DEATH EXPERIENCE (Cinefondacion 2001). She produced and wrote filmSNOW shown at Cannes 2008 – Semaine de la critique where the film won the Grand Prix among other 50 awards. She also wrote Berlinale Panorama entires WHEN THE DAY HAD NO NAME and STITCHES, and Berlinale Competition entry GOD EXISTS, HER NAME IS PENTRUNYA, and most recently Venice Orrizonte film THE HAPPIEST MAN IN THE WORLD. She is President of Filmmakers Association of BiH. She has been teaching screenwriting at Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts since 2002 and is member of European Film Academy. She is currently developing feature film MOTHER and two television series.
