Grand opening of NEM Dubrovnik 2022 sets on June 6th from 8:00 PM to midnight at the Rooftop Terrace.

The host of the first night is ZDF Studios, a key production-distribution component of Germany’s public broadcaster powerhouse, ZDF. On behalf of ZDF, ZDF Studios is responsible: for worldwide program sales, the implementation of international co-productions, license purchasing for quality programs, and the merchandising of strong ZDF program brands at a national and international level.

Upon arrival, NEM’s attendees will enjoy some welcome drinks and networking followed by a welcome speech by Robert Franke, Vice President Drama, ZDF Studios and Mirela Nastase, Director Drama, ZDF Studios. In order to set the tone for the next three days, ZDF Studios will provide an exclusive screening of “Boundless”. Afterward, we will dance the (mid)night away!

Directed by Simon West (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) (producer of Oscar-nominated Black Hawk Down), Boundless features a stellar cast, including Rodrigo Santoro (HBO’s Westworld) and Álvaro Morte (Netflix’ Money Heist).  The six-part event series features high production values shot in magnificent locales, including the Dominican Republic, Basque Country, Madrid, and Seville.

Setting sail 500 hundred years ago in pursuit of the mythical Spice Islands, 5 Spanish ships with 265 men, the voyage of Juan Sebastián Elcano (Morte) and Ferdinand Magellan (Santoro), would prove to be a critical junction in man’s perceptions of the world. Coming at the price of unimaginable suffering; starvation, death, punishing weather, mutinies and madness, this odyssey to the earth’s unknown ends, established the world was, indeed, round, and the existence of an ocean route west.  Emerging from former anti-hero and prisoner, Elcano, not Magellan, would lead the expedition to glory, returning as Captain of the greatest navigational triumph.
