Tonko Obuljen graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Zagreb in 1993. and has been in the field of electronic communications ever since. He is the President of the Council of Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM). He is also an Incoming Chair of Body of the European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC).
His technical background is related to terrestrial and satellite communication networks, in particular for the broadcasting. He has been previously appointed as the director of HAKOM as well as the member of the Council of HAKOM.
