Degree in German Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid, and with a Master in Audiovisual Production: cinema, television and video from the Complutense University of Madrid.

She is the General Director of Atresmedia Cine, a film producer of Atresmedia Corporation and responsible for the success of films such as ‘Palms in the Snow’, ‘Tres metros sobre el cielo, ‘Tengo ganas de ti, ‘El guardian invisible’, ‘Sin rodeos’, ‘La tribu, ‘el major Verano de mi vida’ and ‘La sombra de la ley’. It should be noted ‘Contratiempo’ and ‘Durante la tormenta’, which have been a mass phenomenon in China, where they have raised more than 40 million dollars in cinemas.

In 2015 she produced ‘La isla mínima’, directed by Alberto Rodríguez, internationally acclaimed thriller, winner of ten Goyas awards including best director, best film, best screenplay and best actor. The film has won the public award to the European Film Awards in 2015.

In 2018, the international presence of Atresmedia Cine in the Klaus animation blockbuster stands out, Bafta winner and Oscar nominee for best animated film of 2019.

Special mention for the saga of Padre no hay mas que uno. The first one was released in summer of 2019, becoming the Spanish film best box office of the year, raising a total of 14.2 million euros, and the second film, 12.9 million euros. The most successful family saga of the last decade in our country continues to grow with the arrival of the grandfather and will premiered next July.

In 2021 has produced, among other titles, ¡A todo tren! Destino Asturias, the new comedy by Santiago Segura and the best box office of a Spanish film, and Los renglones torcidos de Dios directed by Oriol Paulo and which will premiered this year.

Mercedes Gamero is the only Spanish representative among the 50 most influential women in the world, in the panorama of the audiovisual industry according to Variety magazine in 2018.
