Chris was appointed CEO of HAVC on 1 May, 2019. HAVC is the umbrella organisation for the Croatian audiovisual sector providing funding and policy leadership.
He was elected President of EFAD in December, 2023. As such he is actively engaged in EU policy and industry matters.
Has has been President of AGICOA (Association of producers’s collective rights organisations) since 2013.
Chris served as the President of the MPA (Motion Picture Association/EMEA) from November 1995 until 2015 when he decided to leave and move to Croatia. His primary mission was to repair relations between the European and U.S. sectors.
Prior to accepting to join the MPA, Chris spent 16 years working in the U.S. government on trade issues as a negotiator and shaping trade policy. He left USTR as the Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for EMEA, responsible to trade relations with the region. Prior to that he was appointed to the newly created position of Assistant USTR for Trade and Environment, pioneering efforts led by VP Al Gore to integrate health and environment principles into those of international commerce, a mission ahed of the times…
Chris holds Croatian and U.S. citizenships, has a Master’s degree from Georgetown University and speaks Croatian, English and French with a working knowledge of Italian and Spanish.
