Don’t miss a case study on the Norwegian series “totally unlike anything else”

The series “Skam” started out as a web drama made strictly for 16-year-old girls in Norway. The initial idea was to launch the project in 2015 without any promotion so that teenagers could find the series on their own and then spread the news about it. The young actors were shielded from the media and they didn’t give any interviews. Nevertheless, the series broke all viewership records – the first episode premiered in September 2015 and it was one of the most-watched episodes of any series on the Norwegian streaming service NRK TV. Its third season, airing at the end of 2016, broke all records in streaming on this platform. Following its licensing deals with several other European countries, it also broke viewership records in Denmark and Sweden. The series has won many awards and has been remade in seven countries. In his case study at NEM, the show’s producer Håkon Moslet will tell you in more detail all about the global success of Skam.
