Petr Dvorak has been „Czech Television“ Director General since September 2011. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Executive Committee of „the European Broadcasting Union“ (EBU), an organization joining European and world public service media. With him at the helm, „Czech Television“ (CT) has launched two new channels, has significantly extended and improved its original production and has become the most viewed television group in the Czech Republic. Before joining CT, he worked for „Nova“, a leading commercial television, and from 2003 to 2010 he was also its Director General. In addition to this, from 2009 to 2010, he was Vice-President for television broadcasting in „CME“, the parent company of „Nova TV“, being responsible for broadcasting operations in the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Slovakia. Since 1995 he has worked with „PPF“, the biggest investment company in the Czech Republic, in areas of sports („Slavia Prague“, a soccer club), insurance industry („Česká pojišťovna“) and banking („eBanka“).
He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague with a degree in technical cybernetics, and in 1999 he got an MBA from the University of Chicago.
