The Paper is a dynamic 12 episode drama series about the newsroom of a Croatian daily paper that became an instrument of political and personal goals amid an ownership change. The plot revolves around Mario Kardum, an influential conservative tycoon who buys left-wing papers in a serious financial crisis, in order to establish his influence. This crime and political drama is directed by one of the most successful Croatian directors and a Cannes laureate Dalibor Matanić and written by Ivica Đikić.
Nebojša Taraba started his career as a journalist in 1992 in the Zagreb office of Slobodna Dalmacija. After that he worked as a reporter and editor for Novi list, Feral Tribune, Globus, Playboy, but he also collaborated with a lot of other Croatian newspapers and magazines.
In March 2004, together with Miodrag Sila, Taraba established Drugi plan which produces original shows and TV formats for all three Croatian television companies with national concession, HRT, Nova TV and RTL. In the last couple of years, their goal was to produce drama and documentary series. Some of their most famous shows are Dvornikovi, Policijska patrola Split, Kod Ane, Seoska gozba, Najduži dan, Mamutica, Instruktor, Loza and many others.
