Professor Goran Vlašić is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics & Business Zagreb, where he focuses his work in the field of innovation and market strategies. Apart from Zagreb, he worked as a professor at the University of Ljubljana (SI) and the University of Sussex (UK), and as a guest lecturer at Bocconi University (IT) and the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA). He obtained his first PhD at the Bocconi University (IT) in the field of innovation and market strategies and the second doctorate degree at the University of Klagenfurt (AT) in the field of sociology and economics.
During his professional career Professor Vlašić has won numerous awards, among which some of the most prominent are the European Marketing Academy & McKinsey award for the second best doctorate in the world, and the National Science Award presented by the Croatian Parliament. In his research he focuses on value-creating strategies and innovation as a basis for growth and development within the organization.
In addition to the academic career, Goran Vlašić works as a consultant for numerous regional companies, he is co-founder of the Innovation Institute and founder of the leading regional executive education program Advanced Program in Business. As a President of the Academic Council at the Innovation Institute, together with leading global and regional scholars, he aims at connecting academia and practice with the goal of questioning existing dogmas and encouraging different thinking among regional decision-makers in order to continuously create new values and ensure long-term and sustainable business development.
