Greg Johnson joined ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) in July 2013 as SVP Distribution, Americas, originally based in Los Angeles and overseeing the distribution of more than 45,000 hours of television, digital and home entertainment content to the USA, Canada and Latin America, as well as format production across Canada and Latin America. During his time in Los Angeles, Greg agreed landmark deals including co-productions with WGBH Masterpiece for international hit dramas Victoria and Poldark, the sales of UK’s most watched drama of 2018 Bodyguard, the upcoming TNT series Snowpiercer to Netflix, as well as Harlots and Love Island to Hulu.
Moving to the UK in January 2018 as EVP Distribution, EMEA & Americas, Greg is now in charge of distribution of content across all platforms across EMEA and Americas, overseeing sales to global and regional digital networks, and licensing of formats in those territories where ITV Studios does not have a production entity. Managing a team of more than 30 people across the region, he has fortified client relationships, worked with producers to find appropriate funding models for drama, factual and entertainment productions, and is assessing and implementing new business models in an evolving media environment.
Greg began his career in the music industry in Australia, working for BMG, Sony Music and Richard Branson’s V2 Records. Following a brief sojourn into the airline technology market, he settled in TV media with roles at The Walt Disney Company in Hong Kong and Sydney, and BBC Worldwide in New York.
